Missions We Support Financially

Immanuel has been blessed with some generous and mission-minded members! We set aside a generous portion of our weekly offerings to assist with the following mission work.

Missions We Support

  • The Benevolent Fund is an “Emergency Fund” for members and others in need. In the past we have used funds for helping with medical expenses, housing, food, utilities, etc.

  • Circuit Mission Work is what we do jointly with the other area LCMS congregations. Recent work that we have supported includes establishing and maintaining this site, helping with Deaf Ministry at Trinity and supporting the Siberian Lutheran Mission Society.

  • District and Synod Support is important since we are not an “independent congregation” but a member of The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. Support to District and Synod goes to plant churches, support church work students and assist with administrative work.

  • We are privileged to support two LCMS missionaries. Rev. Tim and Beth Heiney in Mali, West Africa and Rev. Matthew Heise in Georgia (Russia). We have included their most recent Newsletter for you to learn about their work.

  • People of the Book Lutheran Outreach (POBLO) is based in the Detroit area and seeks to reach those of Middle Eastern ethnic descent.

  • The Pregnancy Care Center of Traverse City offers free pregnancy testing, ultrasound (to confirm a pregnancy), counseling and baby items in a loving pro-life atmosphere.

  • Right to Life of Michigan is another way in which we support the sanctity of all human life. Each year we are a sponsor of the Grand Traverse Area Focus on Life Dinner.

  • Concordia Theological Seminary (Ft. Wayne, IN) is one of two seminaries operated by the LCMS. Through our annual support we are helping to prepare more men to serve as pastors and missionaries.

  • The Seminary Student Adoption Program is how we offer tangible support to a student from both the Ft. Wayne, IN and St. Louis, MO Seminary.

  • Trinity Lutheran School - Christian (Lutheran) education has always been important to Lutherans. We demonstrate that importance by helping a local Lutheran school in Traverse City.
